Captain Straya
The Captain likes the Olympics. Conceived during a misspent HSC study vacation in 2000. The Captain was born in Athens in 2004 among the tourists and local pigeons (the local people having fled for the islands). In 2008, the Captain dragged me along for a month in Beijing, but shortly after I scored a job with the Fiji Olympic Committee. Suddenly I had a ‘real’ website to update with all things Olympic… so this one has been a little neglected.

Hi,
Ran across your blog searching for images of the paparazzi. I’m an artist beginning a project about our media-soaked lives and was wondering where you got the image of the photographers you use as a masthead? Did you take it? If so, I’d like to find out if I could use it in my project. If not, could you tell me where/who and I will try to find them. Basically, I want to make poster sized images that could be fake backgrounds for people so they look more important/cool/dangerous/whatever than they (we) really are. They would be big enough to fill a tv screen w/a headshot… Clearly, it is tongue-in-cheek! But sometimes humor makes a point better than being serious. I thought one with bunches of photographers trained on the person would be a good one. Please let me know about the photo (It’s perfect!).
